Dear Abby 001

📠 Incoming Message...

"Dear Abby, I am currently about 1 month & a couple days out of a relationship with someone who I thought was the loml. I found out he was texting another girl when she dm me in IG & sent me their texts! He was telling her he loved her & asking her for nudes & asking to meet up. This destroyed me. And his reason when I confronted him about it, was...He just wanted to do it one more time before he proposed?! WTF! I do blame myself a lot as well though because this isn't actually the first time he's done it, ha has actually done it multiple times before. I do blame myself because i allowed this to happen to myself & believe him when he said he would change. Now that we are over, he has been trying so hard to get me back, but I have him blocked on everything. And I am actually in a good place with myself right now. But I wanted to ask, is it ok for me to start going out on dates if someone is inviting me? Like get back to the dating scene because I am a little rusty! But yes, would love your input! Thank you! Tarot: The True History

🔮 NERD_FILES // DEEP_DIVE

What if I told you one of the world's most famous mystical tool was originally invented for wealthy Italian Nobles to play a renaissance version of bridge? Yes, I'm talking about Tarot.

Tarot has always had this sort of mysterious reputation.

You see a deck of tarot cards & immediately think of fortune telling, spiritually, witches, the occult, predicting the future, maybe even something darker depending on who you ask. But here's the interesting part - That actually isn't where it began.

Travel Scaries: Small-Town Girl, Big City

I hate chiches & I hate them even more when I fall into one, But, unfortunately (- or fortunately, whichever way you choose to look at it) I am a small-town girl through & through, the only cliche I can't seem to escape from.

I've never experienced a city larger than Atlanta or Miami, & I've only ever flown on a plane twice, & this weekend, I'll be conquering Chicago with my love, Kole & his family. The anxiety I feel about it is honestly beyond me.

Bookstore Therapy: The Latest Additions To My TBR

There is something so nostalgic about a bookstore or library to me. It's the perfect place to turn off my brain and immerse myself in a whole new reality. I’ve loved reading ever since I was a little girl. There's just something about imagining these immaculate stories in my mind like a movie—stepping into a place of peace and escaping the hectic, anxiety-filled world I tend to live in.

Which brings me to my latest trip, I told myself  "I am just going to browse, to kill time before cosmetology school", but the "Bookstore Therapy" got the best of me. Four books & a latte later, here is what made its way home with me...

Who Am I When I am Not Performing For The People Inside My Mind?

I do not perform for others in my mind. I perform for the young girl who wondered what type of woman we would grow into & I perform for the old woman I will become, who I hope is content with the decisions I am making for us.

When I let go of those two versions of myself & perform only for the woman I am right now, I think I would become selfish. I would act purely on impulse. I would choose what feels good in the moment without considering what it might mean for the girl I was or the woman I am becoming.

New Season, New Style: What I'm Actually Buying For Fall

Fall shopping hits differently. While spring and summer are all about lightness and ease, autumn is for the lovers of fashion. It’s the season where dressing becomes an art form: textures get richer, layers get deeper, and accessories actually have a job to do.

Instead of buying into every micro-trend on my feed, I’m being super intentional this year. I’m focusing on pieces that feel equal parts functional, cool, and a little bit subversive.

If you’re looking to refresh your wardrobe for the cooler months ahead, here is everything currently sitting in my cart (and making its way into my daily rotation) for Fall.

What I thrifted this week

Fall is slowly but surely making its way, & now is the best time to start curating the perfect fall wardrobe. Taking a look at current trends & what seems to be coming into style, I am seeing lots of animal print, bright pops of jewel tone colors, skinny & boot cut jeans. Chunky & funky accessoires & all the layers. It's our Fancy Nancy season. What are you looking forward to wearing this fall season? For me it's got to be my big oversized furs.

Welcome to my Cult

Hey Love Bugs!

It's your favorite cult leader (I mean blogger), Abby. ;) Welcome to my official little corner of the internet! If you've already checked out my About Me tab, you know I'm a cosmetology student, a traveler, a storyteller, & a total fashion enthusiast (I have a shopping addiction). But, more than anything, I wanted to create a cozy, nostalgic space where we can talk about beauty, spill secrets, & just share bits & pieces of memories together.
