As I am sitting in our Chicago bed & breakfast this morning, I am reflecting on yesterday's journey & looking forward to the day ahead. I feel completely content.
Yesterday's' afternoon was spent at the ATL airport, grabbing a quick bit from Atlanta Bread before take off. This was only my third time flying & I think I finally have the hang of it - no tears this time & I only panicked a little during take off. Kole & I watched the backroom throughout the flight & let me just say that movie SUCKED. I hated it,
Once we were in the air, the views above the clouds were breathtaking. I was sitting there, thinking about how incredible God's' creation is, when a perfectly circular rainbow appeared in the clouds. It was such a beautiful, quiet reminder that He keeps his promises & that He keeps his promises to me.
As we approached Chicago, I saw the most beautiful sky line I've ever laid eyes on. Coming from a small town, seeing a city that vibrant felt almost out of this world; But reality hit the second we landed. I immediately wished I had worn more layers (or at least pants instead of leggings). The cold up here is a whole different breed!!
We spent our first evening eating incredible thing-crust Chicago style pizza (which I absolutely devoured) & the gathered with family to relax. We shared drinks, the boys built a bonfire, & spent some time night fishing. Kole caught the biggest carp I've EVER seen! Sitting by the fire, Feeling the warmth & catching up, was something I could have stayed in forever.
We finally wrapped the night up by checking into our bed & breakfast & getting a much need good nights sleep.
Day 1 is complete & I am so excited to see what adventures we go on for day 2!
XoXo,
Abby
