Sometimes I think I am behind compared to my peers & other times I think I am ahead of them by milestones. I think comparison really is the thief of joy. As the young woman I am becoming that is an unfortunate tale I have had to come to terms with & accept & learn to steer out of.
I have had to learn to enjoy the grass on my side even if there seems to be a little rain storm heading in over the hills. I have much I have accomplished & can be proud of. So many things I have done in my life that I never would of expected, & sometimes I still look at other grass & compare.
Recently I've dug back into this old habit of comparison & I've had to take a major step back & reflect on myself, as I do when I reach these points in my life - I always blame the seasonal depression. During my self-reflection I've reminded myself of how far I have come.
I completed highschool with honors, I have tried many career paths & have gained many great connections through this, I found my passions & love for hair & I have been in a magazine interview for it. I have worked on major productions with TV companies like Paramount+, MTV & others. My head on my shoulders is strong & knows exactly what it wants, what is craves & what we will have out of this life.
I think self-reflection is good. I also recognized the negative patterns I have been falling back into & know what I need to do to get back out of them & enjoy the grass on my side.
