Deep underground, thirty-nine women live imprisoned in a cage. Watched over by guards, the women have no memory of how they got there, no notion of time, & only a vague recollection of their lives before.
As the burn of electric light merges day into night & numberless years pass, a young girl - the fortieth prisoner - sits alone & outcast in the corner. Soon she will show herself to be the key to the others' escape & survival in the strange world that awaits them above ground.

This book was an absolute experience. I was captivated right from the start. We follow a nameless young girl & 39 other women who are trapped in a bunker, bound to a fate that no one - not even their gaurds - seems to fully understand. For the child, those 39 women & those cold bars of that cage is the entirety of her known universe.

I needed new book suggestions that are different from my comfort YA books. I wanted to get out of my bubble. This sounds so interesting. Sending love from https://dearchandani.blogspot.com/. I love your blog and the folder themes so much.
