Carmilla

Rating: 5/5 Stars
Spoiler Free Summary
The classic 1872 novella that predates Dracula and set the stage for modern vampire lore. It follows a young woman living in an isolated Austrian castle who is captivated—and slowly drained—by a mysterious, enchanting guest named Carmilla. It’s dripping with atmospheric tension, fog-draped romanticism, and lingering shadows.
After finishing Hungerstone, I needed to read more redinations of this tale & where better to start than the original, Beyond excited to snuggle up with my cats & immerse myself in this story & compare it to the tale we all know & love dracula. I fear gothic tales is where my heart will always belong.
